Total Trip Cost, operated by Amortoae Petru PFA, is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the user experience and apply relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Total Trip Cost is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning some parts of the content may not fully conform to the standard.

Measures We Have Taken

  • Sufficient color contrast ratios across all text and interactive elements.
  • Alternative text (alt attributes) for meaningful images and icons.
  • Semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, section, article, footer) for screen reader compatibility.
  • Keyboard navigation support for interactive elements including the budget calculator, destination search, map, and navigation menus.
  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and text scaling.
  • Focus indicators on interactive elements for keyboard users.
  • Use of ARIA attributes where native semantics are insufficient.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the website may have accessibility limitations:

  • Interactive map (Leaflet) - The destination map page uses Leaflet, a third-party mapping library. While we provide alternative content (destination list and search), the map markers and zoom controls may not be fully accessible to all assistive technologies.
  • Third-party embeds - External content loaded via affiliate links and partner widgets may not meet our accessibility standards.
  • PDF export - Generated trip budget PDFs may have limited screen reader support.

Assessment Method

Accessibility of Total Trip Cost has been assessed through self-evaluation using browser developer tools, automated testing tools (Lighthouse, axe), and manual keyboard and screen reader testing.
