About Total Trip Cost
We built Total Trip Cost out of frustration. Every time we planned a trip, we ended up with dozens of tabs open: one for flights, one for hotels, one for “how much does food cost in Bangkok.” The final budget was always a guess.
So we made a calculator that puts everything in one place. Flight prices come from Aviasales (updated every 4 hours), daily costs are calibrated with real data from each destination, and the booking links take you directly where you need to go - no hidden fees on our end.
How it works
Pick a destination, set the duration and travel style (budget, comfort, or luxury), and the calculator shows you the full breakdown: flights, accommodation, food, local transport, activities, insurance, and a 10% buffer for unexpected expenses.
Every category has a booking link. Click “Book” on flights and you land on Aviasales with your exact route. Click on accommodation and Booking.com opens with your destination pre-filled.
Transparency
Total Trip Cost earns from affiliate commissions: when you book a flight or hotel through our links, we get a small percentage from the booking platforms. We never add anything to the price - you pay exactly what you'd pay going direct.
Daily cost data is compiled from public sources (Numbeo, Nomad List) and manually validated. It's not perfect, but it's the best estimate available.
